Newborn baby Photoshoot by the river Seymaz , Chêne-Bougeries, Geneva

I know this post is coming a little late, but I have been so busy, better late than never!

One of the great joys of being a newborn photographer is getting to show them how beautiful their baby is. Another wonderful aspect is getting to know these mums who have just embarked on one of life’s most amazing journeys. We took these photos in mid-September but it was the most glorious day, just like mid-summer. I really feel that we were both blessed with the weather and I for one, was very happy to work with such a beautiful, zen loving mother. In between poses, we had some memorable chats. And as for Felix, after some very long feeds, he finally fell asleep in order for us to pose him in my hand-made vintage bed. My husband made the bed for me and I painted it, creating it was a work of love.

Three days later, we did the family session in my favourite park in the neighbourhood, Parc des Eaux-Vives, Geneva. Whilst Dad was photographing close-ups of tree roots, I started photographing Kate and Felix. I think that motherhood is really the most powerful bond a woman can have.  Your world tips over in a matter of hours.

I love using favourite family belongings in photos as the photograph becomes more personal for the family. We finished with some portraits of the family and at the end, focussing on sleepy Felix.
